Biography:

Rebecca is a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State, holding a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Washington University and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Northwest University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from Northwest University.

Rebecca draws heavily from attachment-based approaches, prioritizing the creation of a secure and supportive therapeutic alliance as the foundation for healing, which is especially crucial during the formative and often challenging college years. She understands the weight of worst-case scenarios and the overwhelming stress that can accompany academic and personal life. Life transitions, particularly in a college environment, can be daunting, especially if you deviate from the heteronormative path. Rebecca’s approach is warm, laid-back, and compassionate, providing a safe space for students to explore their identities and experiences without judgment.

Rebecca’s background encompasses extensive work with ADHD and autism, with recent specialization in autism spectrum disorder during her current doctoral-level clinical training. As a sex-positive therapist, she affirms consensual sexual expression as a natural and healthy aspect of human life, and she actively challenges societal norms surrounding identity and sexuality. This approach fosters guilt-free dialogues, which is vital for students exploring their identities during college. Rebecca is committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where students can authentically explore their experiences with understanding and empathy.

Her expertise extends to supporting individuals grappling with high sensitivity, anxiety, perfectionism, OCD, childhood emotional neglect, attachment injuries, divorce, grief, and loss. Rebecca’s work with students is based on trust, respect, and their personal and academic goals. Together, you will navigate the complexities of your experiences, empowering you to lead a life true to yourself. With a trauma-informed approach, she facilitates open discussions without shame as you explore your unique identity and lived experiences in the context of your college journey.

In her personal life, Rebecca loves spending time with her partner and kids, hiking and climbing mountains in the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys reading psychology, fiction, and autobiographical books. As a passionate music lover, she finds great joy in attending concerts and music festivals.
