Biography:

Yihan Wang (Pronounce: E-han Wong) is a master’s student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Northern Arizona University. She has over 3 years of experience working with a diverse range of young adults and high school students in China and has 2 years of experience working in higher education.

As a counselor, she focuses on developing a safe and supportive relationship with her clients and believes in their potential. She works from a psychodynamic approach, and collaboratively explores the motives behind clients’ behaviors, emotions and thoughts in deep, meaningful, and insightful ways. Similarly, she works with clients to connect their past experiences and upbringing to their current situation and makes use of the client-counselor relationship in therapy. She also sees things in a systemic/interconnected way and helps students to focus on solutions to their current situation and concerns. In her free time, Yihan enjoys traveling, nature, and reading books.
