As a Theatre Generalist, Marcus is an accomplished actor, director, producer, playwright, designer, manager, and theatre technician and has been a theatre artist for over 30 years. Marcus earned his BA in Creative Writing and MA in Theatre Production from Central Washington University where he graduated with honors and scholarship and was thrilled to be the 2011 CAH student commencement speaker at his graduation. Marcus went on to earn his MFA in Playwriting and Theatre Pedagogy from the University of Idaho. He was the Chair of the Theatre Department at Wenatchee Valley College for over a decade and produced, directed, and designed dozens of plays before becoming the Technical Director for Oregon State University. His professional acting credits include improv, stage, and screen. As a writer, Marcus is a published poet and has written dozens of plays, many of which have been produced. He also wrote, directed, and edited the noir detective audio podcast, Tales of the Queen City. Marcus has a deep passion for theatre and education, and brings his vast knowledge and skills to Bellevue College. He is student centered and hopes to empower the students at Bellevue College to learn and collaborate in the creation of theatre magic.
