Located across campus, water refill stations provide an easy and eco-conscious way to fill beverage vessels with cold, filtered water.
Why use a refill station?
Filling up at a refill station instead of buying bottled water, not only saves money, but it also reduces single-use plastics. Single-use plastics are items intended to be used only once before throwing away or recycling. Many of these bottles find their way into the environment and harm the animals and plants that live there. Nature.org reports “Humans buy about 1,000,000 plastic bottles per minute in total and only about 23% of plastic bottles are recycled within the U.S.”. Bellevue College’s water refill stations aim to take these bottles out of the waste stream by making it easy for everyone on campus to fill personal reusable water bottles.
New Stations
As of Spring 2022, twenty new water bottle filler stations were installed on campus. View the map to see the locations of the new stations.
