BC Goes AASHE

As you may know, Bellevue College has become a member of AASHE.  This week two students and one staff member headed to Pittsburgh for the annual AASHE conference to learn and share best practices in Sustainability from colleges all over the world.   From composting to student gardens to green fees and activism we rubbed shoulders with Bill McKibben (pictured below and in the video giving some tips to BC students) to Majora Carter from the South Bronx to Sandra Steingraber.  We even got a wave from Obama! We met so many amazing students and sustainability faculty and staff working towards social, economic and environmental justice on their campus.  Our own ASG Representative for Social and Environmental Sustainability went on stage in front of thousands and gave a shout-out to BC’s Sustainability efforts and BC was recognized as a founding member of the Billion Dollar Challenge.  Come find Sophia Trinh, Megan Phan, or Deric Gruen to learn more or leave a comment below.
