Bellevue College has its very own Little Free Library and is now part of a network of over 100,000! Funded by the Student Environmental Sustainability Fund, it’s located south of the Pizza Café entrance at Student Housing (H Building).

The Little Free Library (LFL) expands access to books across campus as well as supports learning, inspires readers, and sparks conversation within our community.

This wonderful campus and community resource opened Fall Quarter 2023 and is open to all, so stop by and take a look!

The books in the LFL are focused on sustainability, the environment, climate justice and social justice. Here is a list of books that were stocked in the library this quarter:

  • No Impact Man
  • The Upcycle: Beyond sustainability – designing for abundandace
  • Make Thrift Mend
  • As Long as Grass Grows
  • Consumed
  • Cradle to Cradle
  • Braiding Sweetgrass
  • Climate Justice: Hope, Resilience, and the Fight for a Sustainable Future
  • Fresh Banana Leaves
  • Drawdown
  • Better Living Through Birding: Notes from a Black Man in the Natural Word
  • A Bigger Picture: My Fight to Bring a New African Voice to the Climate Crisis
  • Ice Rivers: A Story of Glaciers, Wilderness, and Humanity

A special thank you to the Sustainability Curriculum Committee for donating their extra book club books! Additional books were purchased using SESF funds.

We will be running book drives in collaboration with the library throughout the year, so keep an eye out!
