Pledge an ‘Act of Green’

As Earth Week is coming up, I have begun noticing the increasing effort our campus is making to become more sustainable.  Earth Week 2012 is looking up to be an exciting event, with multiple vendor booths, interesting guest speakers, an amazing band and raffle drawings!

To kick off Earth Week, we want to engage the campus community to participate in pledging an ‘Act of Green’.  The pledges can be simple actions like turning off the light when leaving a room or using the composting bins available around campus.

We plan on “building” a tree and filling it up with leaves of pledges.   At the end of Earth Week, one lucky leaf will be drawn from a raffle to win a Sustainable Gift Basket. I’ll also be conducting follow up interviews from random drawings of the leaves. (That is definitely something to look forward to)

For now, start thinking about what you would like to pledge and try to spread the news about this exciting campaign!

P.S.: Make sure to keep a look out for a dynamic video promo heading your way that features students, faculty and staff of the campus!
