About the Organization:
Mass Transit Now is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create 116 miles of Sound Transit light rail, new bus rapid transit lines and express buses, expanded commuter rail and more.
Become part of the campaign to build stronger communities by expanding light rail and bus rapid transit in the Puget Sound region through Sound Transit 3, on the ballot on November 8th, 2016. Mass Transit Now offers much needed relief from gridlock while long-term investments in light rail provide jobs, improve our quality of life and protect our environment.
Position Summary:
The Grassroots Organizing Fellow will assist the Eastside Regional Director in building a grassroots movement to support Mass Transit in a number of capacities including:
- Direct Voter contact
- Volunteer recruitment/coordination
- Data Entry
- Networking
This internship is a great fit for anyone interested in learning more about Grassroots Organizing, Campaigns, Public Policy (particularly transportation policy), Urban Planning, Political Science, and Outreach.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- No prior campaign experience required. We are looking for students who are enthusiastic about and/or interested in transportation issues, public policy, and activism. Candidates who possess strong organizational and communication skills are encouraged to apply!
