Seattle Public Utilities Environmental Justice Youth Poetry Competition

Environmental Justice Youth Poetry Competition

Seattle Public Utilities provide water, drainage and wastewater, and garbage and recycling services to residents in Seattle and the region. They’ve been working on our collective environmental justice framework to define and articulate our goals and guide our work. They’re seeking local poets to contribute pieces about circularity, water, resource management, natural resources, and environmental justice that will be published this year in our strategic business plan. They’re seeking your voice, views, and creativity! Interested in submitting a poem or have questions?

Please email your submission and biography or question to tess.honan2@seattle.gov. Poems are due by March 23. The winning submission will be published in their Business Plan Compendium and a video recording of you reading your piece. Selected poets will receive a $2,500 commission.
