Join PLAN to learn how to drive change away from single-use products and encourage reuse on campus!

This session is an interactive presentation around how students can lead efforts to solve waste issues on campus by implementing new zero waste programs. The speakers from PLAN will start with an overview of the global impacts of waste and consumption, then move into providing examples of tangible campus solutions that address various points along the Linear Consumption Economy. Examples include, but are not limited to: repair fairs, tool libraries, compost and move-out programs, thrift stores, and more. They will draw on their national experience with campuses from across the country and our Points of Intervention theory of change to highlight innovative ideas for how students can address the Waste Crisis on their own campus. They will end the session with a reflection activity that takes into consideration both the problems and solutions, asking attendees to ponder what their next steps can be to take action at their institution.
