PD Day – Sustainability in the Curriculum

The Faculty Professional Development Day featured two sessions on Sustainability.

Sustainability in the Curriculum:  Water is Life

with Michael Reese, Michael Righi,  Kent Short

Water—we all need it.  Think Water doesn’t apply to your discipline?  Think again!  See how water can apply in your field through topics like social justice, politics, health, conservation, ecosystems, management, economics, etc.  Learn about water resources, ownership, production, access, distribution, quality, consumption, conservation, recycling, and disposal.  Work collaboratively with other participants to incorporate water and other sustainability issues in your own classroom.

Sustainability at BC Panel

with Deric Gruen, Ray White, Christian Stage, Megan Phan, Robert Herbruger, Kristen Connely, and Russ Beard

Want to learn more about current sustainability efforts being made on campus?  Want to offer your suggestions on how to make BC more sustainable? This session will cover topics such as composting & dining services, technology, transportation, printing, energy use, water consumption and many other green efforts being made on campus.  A diverse panel of BC staff and students will share with you their experiences of campus transformation during this lively and informative session.
