Lighting Retrofits Proposed for Main Campus

Over the last few months Bellevue College has undergone an energy audit of lighting, water and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems on main campus as part of the Washington State Energy Savings Energy Performance Contracting Program. That audit is now complete and the College is reviewing proposals that would reduce energy and water consumption and spending and improve function.

  Classrooms/ Offices:  Fluorescent 2 x 28 watt T8 lamps, troffer retrofit

• Reduce wattage, maintain (or improve) lumens
• Parallel circuitry (if lamp goes out others stay on)
• Standard “color” across campus
• Infrared and ultrasonic occupancy detection
• Manual switch

 Gym:  Fluorescent 50 Watt T5 lamps with occupancy sensor

• Reduce wattage, maintain lumens
• Hi-lo adds extra light as motion is detected
• White fluorescent to replace MH orange

•  Reduce wattage, maintain lumens, longer life
•  Does not alter exterior look of fixture
• Longer lasting and lower wattage lamp
