Please join our Asian Pacific Islander community and all of Bellevue College in this event hosted by the Asian Pacific Islander Students Affinity Coordinator:
The Day of Remembrance is a day of observance for the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, remembering the injustices faced by the Japanese American people during and after the war. Author Frank Abe will connect the wartime incarceration of Japanese Americans with a resurgence of anti-Asian violence today — on this 80th anniversary of the original executive order — and explore how false accusations of disloyalty have historically been made solely on the basis of race.
Students who preregister for the event can receive their own copy of the graphic novel, “We Hereby Refuse,” by Frank Abe. Quantities are limited! Book registration (open to current BC students only): [Pre-registration form has been closed.]
Join the event on Zoom, Wednesday Feb 23, 1:30 – 2:30 PM
