PROGRAM DOCUMENTS
- TBD
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
You will join an international group of students from around the world to live and study at Sogong University for four weeks. Sogong University is a private university in the heart of Seoul with modern classroom facilities and a beautiful campus in walking distance to many cafes and restaurants. You may take 1 or 2 classes, including Korean Language and/or one of the courses on the approved class list below.
Note: Korean Language credits are offered in partnership with Pierce College, so students who choose to take Korean will pay tuition for this course to Pierce. Other Elective course tuition will be paid to your home college. Students receiving financial aid may qualify for a consortium agreement for tuition; contact your WCCCSA Campus Coordinator and/or your home college’s financial aid office for more information.
AVAILABLE COURSES (subject to change)
List of classes: The class list has changed vs last year. Please ensure you verify which courses can be transferred for credit at your home institution. The detail syllabus for each class is embedded on the website (syllabus column).
Korean class: If students choose this class, make sure you tell them they need to apply for admissions at Pierce College to get the credit since it is my understanding that they are the only ones that offer Korean Language within WCCCSA.
HOUSING
You will live with a roommate in an international on-campus dormitory. The dormitory building is new, and has its own cafeteria, fitness center, laundry, chapel, and lounge for public use. Each room has beds, desks, chairs, wardrobes, shoes cabinets, internet cables, restrooms and shower rooms. There are 12 floors with an elevator.
EXCURSIONS/ACTIVITIES
You will have many opportunities to visit local cultural and historical sits of significance in Seoul, including weekly Friday field trips, bi-weekly “Buddy Activities” with local Korean students, and the option to participate in bi-weekly start-up club and E-Sports club activities. Special excursions include the Demilitarized Zone and K-Pop events.
You will have free time in the evenings and weekends to explore the city and region independently.
