Emergency Preparedness and Training Tips

  1. Take a CPR/First Aid/AED/Narcan Training Course
    1. Certification is valid for two years
    2. Courses are coordinated each quarter to include various departments
  1. Become familiar with the evacuation zone and emergency equipment maps
    1. Discuss the evacuation plan and zone during your monthly staff meetings
  1. Routinely check your office area for Emergency equipment
    1. Is your first aid kit in need of supplies?  Contact Public Safety if the first aid kit is low on supplies.
    2. Check the fire extinguisher.  Is the area around it free from clutter and obstacles?
  1. Participate in semi-annual Fire Drills
  1. Request the C.R.A.S.E. (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training for your department
  1. Request a security and emergency assessment of your work area/department.  Contact Public Safety and Emergency Management to schedule.
