Fire Extinguisher

Pre-requisite: online training

Don’t wait until you encounter a fire to figure out how to use a fire extinguisher.  Learn how to operate a fire extinguisher by participating in the onsite demonstration.  Learn the meaning of P.A.S.S. and how to use it during a fire. It is highly recommended to take the online fire extinguisher safety training prior to this activity.  

CRASE Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) course, designed and built on the Avoid – Deny – Defend strategy developed by ALERRT at Texas State University in 2004, provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter/active aggressor event or other critical incident.  Topics include the nature and prevalence of active shooter and active aggressor events; civilian response options of Avoid – Deny – Defend; the stages of human disaster response, and how to improve your response in order to influence survivability; and the role of first responders at a critical incident like an active shooter or active aggressor.   Submit the online request for CRASE trained representatives from Public Safety to lead this course in your department.
