During Winter Quarter 2025, the students in the OLS Computer Applications in the Workplace course visited the Bellevue College XR Lab for their Community Activity. Throughout the quarter students studied advanced elements of the Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel—to gain tech skills that are often needed in the workplace. To see a more advanced computer technology that is now being used in various approaches in businesses, students had a lesson and activity time in the virtual reality lab right here on the Bellevue College campus.

Students were given an introduction to how the XR Lab came to be on campus along with many examples of current work and studies being done there to advance the technology. Then the class was able to use the XR Lab’s equipment to do a range of virtual reality activities. There was something for everyone and every skill level. All class members displayed high professionalism, adaptability to a changing, dynamic environment, and were eager to learn and try activities out. They represented our OLS program in a wonderful way while having quite a bit of fun!
