OLS Bellevue College Welcomes New Associate Dean

Please join us in welcoming Meg Iyer as the new Associate Dean for the Occupational & Life Skills Bellevue College (OLSBC) program.

Portrait of Meg Iyer

Meg has spent her career in education and is passionate about inclusion and helping young adults with disabilities transition into post-secondary life. She began her career teaching in New York City through Teach for America and then became a school psychologist, working in the Issaquah School District for 15 years. Two years ago, Meg received her doctorate in educational leadership and accepted a position on the school psychology faculty at Seattle University, splitting her time between teaching graduate school and serving as the Transition Specialist for the Center for Change in Transition Services. Meg is a member of OSPI’s Inclusionary Practices Technical Assistance Network and is a Washington delegate for the National Technical Assistance Center on Transition, contributing to initiatives that improve opportunities and outcomes for students with disabilities.

While she may be a new addition to the OLSBC team, she is quite familiar with the program. “I have long admired the OLSBC program,” she said. “During my time as a school psychologist at a local high school, I had the privilege of working with many students and families who have benefited from attending OLSBC. As a transition specialist, I have seen firsthand how the OLSBC program is a true leader in the field, setting a benchmark for excellence.”

She is also looking forward to this new chapter and helping OLSBC continue to expand and flourish. “I am truly excited to join the team and work alongside such dedicated professionals and inspiring young adults,” she said. “I look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the program.”

Meg lives with her family and has three teenagers, ages 18, 16, and 14. In her free time, you will find her playing soccer, running, paddle boarding, volunteering, and reading.

Welcome to the OLSBC team, Meg!
