Tour of CBRE Warehouse

Our students recently had the opportunity to see the daily operations of the CBRE Warehouse first-hand. Students participated in a walking tour to see how various office/building supplies and materials are organized, fulfilling daily orders, and delivery to the various Microsoft Buildings.

Information the students gathered from the tour included the following: what jobs are in a warehouse, what qualifications do you need to work in a warehouse, what is your job title if you work in a warehouse, do you have to wear steel toed shoes/safety vests, do you have to drive a fork lift, and what are the company benefits?

In addition to getting to learn outside the classroom, community activities such as these allow students to explore career pathways and work environments. Students must plan ahead on their calendars and for traveling off-campus, which helps prepare them for their upcoming Internships and employment. It also offers students an opportunity to meet for coffee or lunch before and after the activity, and many students choose to carpool.
