XR Lab: Visiting Students and School Groups Welcome this Summer 

Experience the future of technology at Bellevue College’s Extended Reality (XR) Lab. Open to visitors across the Pacific Northwest, the XR Lab offers a unique opportunity to dive into the exciting world of XR. Whether you’re just curious or deeply passionate about virtual and augmented reality, we invite you to explore boundless possibilities. The XR Lab is available for group visits by appointment until mid-August. 

Extended Reality (XR) is an umbrella term that encompasses several immersive technologies, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). VR immerses users in a fully artificial digital environment, AR overlays digital information onto the real world, and MR blends real and virtual worlds to produce new environments where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. XR technologies are used in various fields, such as education, health care, entertainment, and industrial design, enhancing experiences and expanding how we interact with digital content. 

Located within Bellevue College’s Library Media Center, the XR Lab is a cutting-edge facility designed to inspire learners of all ages. At the XR Lab, visitors have access to an array of advanced technologies and services, including: 

• State-of-the-art virtual reality display devices that provide immersive experiences 

• Educational software that offers high-quality, interactive learning experiences 

• A video conference classroom that connects students with presenters from around the globe 

• VR-equipped demonstration suites and workrooms for hands-on exploration and innovation 

Educators and group coordinators can schedule an appointment by emailing the lab at xrlab@bellevuecollege.edu. Appointments are available 12-5 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through Aug. 15, 2024.
