Whether it’s watching a dance performance for date night or taking the kids to a matinee children’s play, the Theatre Arts department at Bellevue College has performances for a wide variety of community members.
“The arts can really bring a community together,” said Tammi Doyle, Bellevue College’s Theatre Arts Department of Drama and Dance chair. “This spring, our performances are designed to do just that with a musical and dance concert for ages three to 103!”
The Bellevue College Dance Company (BC/DC) is pleased to present the Bellevue College Dance Festival on May 3 at the college’s Carlson Theatre. Under the direction of Jenna Spinei, the dance company is made up of Bellevue College students who practice dancing and choreography all academic year to perform at the festival, which includes a variety of dance styles. The BC/DC was formed to allow students to work with professional choreographers to create original dances at a pre-professional level.
For younger audiences, Bellevue College’s Theatre Arts Department will present the musical “A Year with Frog and Toad.” Showing May 9-12 at Bellevue College’s Stop Gap Theatre, this play will be fun for the entire family and puts the performing arts front and center as an avenue for learning, culture, and community.
Tickets for the drama and dance performances range between $5-15 and can be purchased at brownpapertickets.com. For more information, visit bellevuecollege.edu/theatrearts/.
