Message about the invasion of Ukraine
Feb 25, 2022Dear BC Community,
The news and images coming out of Ukraine over the past 48 hours are frightening and disturbing for all of us, and especially for those who have connections with the region. Many of our students and employees are members of the Ukrainian community and have family and friends in and near the war zone. Know that we care for and support you all.
The past two years have been incredibly difficult, and this conflict only compounds our sense of stress. As always, please continue to respect and care for each other, check in on your colleagues, and let them know that they are supported.
We also have many students and employees from the Russian community. It is important that we not let the actions of the Russian government affect how we treat our valued Russian students, employees, and community members who have no role in its policies.
For those who need emotional support during this challenging time, students can reach out to the BC Counseling Center at 425-564-5747, and employees can get help from the Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at 1-877-313-4455. EAP is confidential and no information is shared with anyone at the college.
