From January to March, Bellevue College’s Theatre Arts and Music departments will offer local arts and entertainment shows for the winter season.

Bellevue College invites the community to step onto campus for music, dance, and theatre performances from both students and world entertainers alike. From January to March, Bellevue College’s Theatre Arts and Music departments will offer local arts and entertainment shows for the winter season.
The college is home to Carlson Theatre, a 300-seat theater, and Stop Gap Studio, a 60-to 80-seat theater, both located in the E Building on the Bellevue College campus. General admission, ranging from free tickets to $15-$20, is affordable and accessible to all. Paid parking and maps of the college are also available. The Theatre Arts and Music departments produce events throughout the entire academic year.

Description: Equally at home with both acoustic and electric guitar, Jiji’s concert programs range from traditional and contemporary classical to free improvisation. In 2021, The Washington Post selected JIJI as “one of the 21 composers/performers who sound like tomorrow,” and The Kansas City Star recently described her as “a graceful and nuanced player.” In recent seasons, Jiji has presented solo recitals at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Lincoln Center, 92nd Street Y, Caramoor, Green Music Center, and the National Art Gallery, among other distinguished venues.

Description: Join the 27th annual Jazz Festival, which will feature middle school and high school jazz bands, and trumpeter Michael Rodriguez, the guest artist for this year’s festival.

Description: Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. With contemporary characters and ingenious plot twists, this play is a fresh look at a timeless love story. Bellevue College’s “Eurydice” is directed by faculty member Karen jo Fairbrook, with an original body of music by a Bellevue College student.

Description: One of Japan’s premier guitarists, Shin-ichi Fukuda is internationally known as an intelligent and brilliant interpreter of contemporary guitar music. For over 30 years, he has maintained a distinguished concert career, performing solo recitals, concertos with orchestra, and chamber music in major cities worldwide. Fukuda was awarded numerous prestigious competition prizes, including first prize in the 23rd Paris International Guitar Competition, organized by Radio France.
