Bellevue College will host music, dance, and theatre performances from both students and world entertainers this spring. From March to June, Bellevue College’s Theatre Arts and Music departments will offer local arts and entertainment shows available to the entire community.
The college is home to Carlson Theatre, a 300-seat theater, and Stop Gap Studio, a 60-to 80-seat theater, both located in the E Building on the Bellevue College campus. General admission, ranging from free tickets to $15-$20, is affordable and accessible to all. Paid parking and maps of the college are also available. The Theatre Arts and Music departments produce events throughout the entire academic year.

Description: Join Bellevue College’s Music department for a multi-day celebration of all things jazz. Bellevue College’s Jazz Band, directed by Jim Sisko, will host student musicians from middle school and high school. Middle schoolers will perform on March 28, with the top three schools earning special recognition in addition to a special presentation of eight individual awards. High schoolers will perform on March 29, with the top three schools selected to perform for an evening concert. The evening concert will start at 8 PM and will include a performance by the Bellevue College Jazz Band with guest artist John Swana. Evening concert tickets are available for $15.

Description: In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap… until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acquittal. This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse. This musical is based on a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse. Music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, musically directed by Aimee Hong, choreographed by Jenna Spinei, and directed by Bradetta Vines. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for Bellevue College students and employees.
