Brief description of some Meteorology classes:
METR 102: Intro to the Weather and Climate (with lab)
A new meteorology lab course, similar to METR 101 but with a lab component added to fulfill the requirements for a natural science lab class.
A general, non-math introduction to the study of weather, including atmospheric properties and processes that control temperature, wind, precipitation, and storm systems. Students will explore atmospheric processes by working hands-on with real-world weather and climate data in the weekly labs.
METR 101: Introduction to the Weather (non-lab)
A general, non-math introduction to the study of weather, including atmospheric properties and processes that control temperature, wind, precipitation, and storm systems. Students also discuss weather forecasting, air pollution, and climate change.
Note: Either METR 101 or METR 102 may be taken for credit, not both.
Annual Course Schedule
Meteorology 101 (non-lab) or Meteorology 102 (with lab) is offered each quarter throughout the year. The course offerings vary so students can take a lab or non-lab version of this course.
