Workshop Schedule

Location: T306

Session Description: Come view our high-fidelity mannequin simulations used throughout the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program here at Bellevue College. Our highly advanced mannequins can simulate real clinical environments across the healthcare spectrum. Within our ADN program, we offer simulation experience with Medical-Surgical patients, birthing patients (with a simulated baby!), and more to practice difficult and complex care scenarios in a safe learning environment before applying them in professional practice.

Location: T320 (NDT Lab)

Session Description: The Neurodiagnostic Technology (NDT) program faculty will be demonstrating electroencephalography (EEG) recording and performing live recordings on interested students. Students can also tour the NDT classroom and lab spaces.

Location: T216 (VERT Lab)

Session Description: This session will provide group advice and information in the Virtual Environment Radiation Therapy (VERT) Linear Accelerator Room to explore more by doing hands-on gaming activities to understand how radiation therapists treat cancer patients.

Session Description: “Come As You Are” Yoga! Join us for a short movement and stretch session, focused on flowing in and out of gentle yoga poses to help stretch, release tension, and breathe after a busy day. No mat required, but participants are welcome to bring one if they prefer. Non-constricting clothing is helpful, and participants may choose to remove shoes and socks but are welcome to keep them on if they like.

Session Description: Did you know close to half of individuals living in Washington have high blood pressure? The BC Health Promotion & Education program offers participants an individual blood pressure reading.

Session Description: Join us for a panel discussion and hear from current or former students. Learn how our program prepares students for in-demand jobs in healthcare management.

Session Description: This session includes information on the practice of mindfulness. We will review the proven benefits of mindfulness and how they help students with their studies, try out some specific breathing techniques that you can use right away to reduce stress, share easy ways to be more present in your day and more! You will walk away refreshed and relaxed.

Session Description: Students, faculty and program members of the Parent Education program will present information about the program and answer any questions about the program.

Session Description: Izzy DeGrasse will present information about our Workforce Education program, which helps students get in-demand skills through Bellevue College’s professional-technical programs to enter or return to the workforce.

Session Description: In this session led by Academic Advising Department Director, Veratta Pegram-Floyd, prospective students and guests will learn about the ways to navigate academic advising at Bellevue College. Prospective students and guests will receive an overview of the academic advising process from BC general admission application to program admission.

Session Description: Allied Health professionals are specially trained to support physicians and institutions in either clinical or administrative areas. The program will feature multiple processes in hands-on demonstrations: blood drawing techniques, centrifugation of blood samples, aliquoting blood samples, and performing Point of Care tests, including mononucleosis and influenza testing.

Do you love hands-on labs and research projects? Explore the fascinating world of Molecular Biosciences (MBS), an interdisciplinary field of science that uses Biology and Chemistry to study the network of chemical reactions and biological processes that connect molecules in living organisms. The Molecular Biosciences program at BC will prepare you to pursue a career in biomedical research, medicine, pharmacy, forensics, or even food science (just to name a few).

I-BEST is a nationally recognized program that provides additional support for precollege students, such as non-native English speakers and adult basic education learners. Students enroll in college certificate and degree programs and receive support in language learning and study skills. The I-BEST program partners with Allied Health and the Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) programs, among others. Students can also begin their journey toward earning transfer associate degrees by enrolling in classes, such as English Composition, Communication Studies, Biology, Psychology, and others.
