The eLearning Team offers workshops featuring practical tools and creative applications of technology for teaching on-ground, hybrid, and online courses. Our goal for each workshop is for faculty to walk away with new skills and knowledge that they can begin to use right away.

Faculty Canvas Orientation
All faculty can complete this self-paced orientation to Canvas before they start teaching their Canvas Course. This course is the first step to get to know how Canvas works and where you should you go for help. It takes about an hour to compete this Orientation. A new faculty at Bellevue College will be automatically added to this Orientation.
Canvas 101
A self-paced facilitated online course that is perfect for instructors new to Canvas. It is modular so instructors with varied backgrounds and experience can select the order of the modules for their needs. Upon completion of all portions of the workshop, you will earn a Certificate of Completion validating 22 hours of Professional Development.
Canvas 201
This workshop will not be offered in 2023. We will resume offering this workshop in 2024.
This is the intermediate level Canvas course that will build on the knowledge you gained in Canvas 101. You will learn how to enhance your online class with additional tools. Upon completion of and participation in all portions of the workshop, participants will earn a Certificate of Completion validating 22 hours of Professional Development.
General Canvas Guides
These Canvas guides are created by Instructure, which is the company that owns Canvas. They provide excellent resources with getting started information, Canvas basics, and video guides with short video tutorials. The information they provide is relevant for both faculty and students and you may want to share this link with your students.
Copyright for Educators
This course will help you to understand and use Creative Commons (CC) and other licensing options to identify content that is suitable for your courses. We will also define key terms of copyright including fair use, TEACH ACT, and public domain Describe how copyright law applies in educational course design.
Accessibility 101
The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to the basics of accessibility. Participants will learn the laws that most impact higher ed, how to create accessible content, and other useful information pertaining to accessible technology and the experience of people with disabilities.

Training by Request
eLearning will provide individual training for faculty, or for your program and division upon request. Topic ideas: Accessibility in PDF, Canvas basics, captions & transcripts – a UDL approach, Cidi Labs and Canvas Hacks, introduction to Panopto, posting and editing videos, Respondus LockDown Browser, Microsoft Office 365 for teaching, UDL – design for all, and Zoom & OWL workshops. SBCTC Workshops
These workshops are monitored and facilitated by the State Board of Community and Technical College eLearning team. Use your Bellevue College Netid and password to register. Topics include Canvas, Quality Matters, Open Educational Resources, and more.
