
Registration for returning students starts Monday, November 9 and all winter quarter classes will be held remotely. This quarter the DMA department is offering four classes that ANYONE can take. That’s right, there are no prerequisites. Are you interested in learning something new, exciting, and different? Keep on a eye out for these classes when registration begins.
DMA 203: Motion Design Fundamentals – 5 credits
An introduction to the technologies, theories, practices and techniques used to create motion graphics as used in animations, gaming environments and special effect videos. Students will apply basic moving image design theory to create and manage moving images, graphics, illustrations and effects. End use requirements for various applications of moving graphics will also be explored as well as simple audio editing tools. Recommended: DMA 103.
DMA 218: 3D Technical Foundations – 5 credits
This course will introduce students to the technical components and performance considerations for 3D production level assets. Topics covered include creating real-time visual effects and identifying and correcting performance issues with real-time rendering. Recommended: DMA 216. Fee: $75.00 DMA program fee.
DMA 226: Digital Game Design – 5 credits
Beginning GAME students design and implement their own computer games. Fundamentals of programming and graphic development are covered with respect to game development. Recommended: DMA 225. Fee: $75.00 DMA program fee.
DMA 248: Video Core – 5 credits
Presents production techniques for a variety of video applications, including theatrical, news gathering, informational, and documentary-style productions. Students focus on pre-production planning and executing excellence in their production and post-production processes. Previously DMA 259. Either DMA 248 or DMA 259 can be taken for credit, not both. Recommended: DMA 103. Fee: $75.00 DMA program fee.
