Community Care Fund

Community Care Fund

Bellevue College’s Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation’s (OCCIT) Community Care Fund aims to reinforce the institutional capacity to provide supportive resources to faculty, staff, affinity group organizations, and other institutional partners. The Community Care Fund is a provision to support the funding needs to acquire training, continued education, wellness, and/ or institutional transformation that centers on specific or broad issues of community affairs. These funds should be used to support, extend, educate, and affirm projects that demonstrate direct alignment with the core goals of the Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation and Bellevue College’s institutional capacity to impact change in the wider community.

This funding stream does not finance programmatic activities as a guaranteed funding resource but as a resource request for support. Various reviews and approaches will be used to adjudicate all funding requests contributing to the Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation and Bellevue College’s ability to strengthen and structure the sustainability of positive, productive, constructive, and community-centered actions supported by this office.

All proposal requests should align with two or more core OCCIT Goals:

  • Train, guide, and inform on community affairs
  • Affirm and educate restorative practices
  • Provide standard and strategic programming

These funds are dedicated to advancing community affairs and learning for students, faculty, and staff at Bellevue College.

The Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation can not support Community Care fund requests for food or beverage needs. Please remember that your request will not be granted if it centers on receiving funds to purchase food or beverage items.

If your Community Care Fund request is granted, all requests must provide an event, program, training, or workshop digital flyer. The SJC will list your event on the SJC in-office monitor, the SJC Website calendar page (BC Website), and the production of public flyers shared inside the SJC. The individual/group administrators who manage the event are responsible for all campus marketing, communications, BC FYI, or other wider media promotional avenues. The flyer must display the appropriate content (Time, Date, Location, brief Bio of the speaker, Image of the speaker (if available), Event Title, and Event summary. Event summary should not exceed 75 words).  Submit your flyer to hasaan.kirkland@bellevuecollege.edu.

The Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation (OCCIT) will be responsible for adherence to requests up to $3000 and will evaluate requests using the following proposal guidelines set forth. If a fund request exceeds $3,000, the OCCIT office will evaluate the level of impact to justify the expense.
