The following information identifies the procedures in the event that a student does not adhere to academic and conduct related expectations.
Academic Standing
Bellevue College is committed to the academic success of its students. The Bachelor’s of Applied Science degrees within the School of Business & Technology follow and adhere to the Bellevue College Academic Standing policy and procedure. In addition to this policy, all BAS programs require students to earn a C or better in their core BAS curriculum. If a student receives a grade below a C, they will be required to retake that course prior to being able to graduate. If you have questions about which courses are required to be completed with a C or better for your degree, please reach out directly to the Program Manager for that degree.
Conduct Related Probation and Dismissal
It is expected that students in the program will conduct themselves by professional standards at all times. In those rare instances where a student violates the BC Student Code or demonstrates inappropriate behavior in a physical or online classroom or clinical setting, the following procedure will be followed:
- Unacceptable behavior will be identified and the student will receive a written warning from a faculty member.
- If the unacceptable behavior occurs a second time, the student will be placed on probation. The student will be given a written letter outlining the unacceptable behavior and what steps are necessary to rectify the situation.
- If the unacceptable behavior continues, the student will be dismissed from the program.
- In certain circumstances, depending on the seriousness of the conduct, the student may receive further disciplinary action.
Every student has the right to appeal the disciplinary action.
