Four Bulldogs Make Early Commitments to Four-Year Universities

Four Bellevue College baseball players made early commitments last week during the NCAA signing period. Kyle Swannack, a right-handed pitcher, signed a letter of intent to pitch next year at Washington State University. The Cougars, coming off two consecutive NCAA Regional berths, have established themselves as one of the premier college baseball programs in one of the toughest conferences in the country. Swannack is one of two returning starting pitchers for the Bulldogs. Jake Collier, the other returning starter, committed to pitch at the University of Hawaii. Collier will be joining another top program in the country as the Warriors are coming off an NCAA Regional runner-up finish. Kyle Conwell signed a letter of intent with Abilene Christian University. The Wildcats finished with a 50-15 record last year and were ranked eighth in the country in the NCAA Division II poll. Co-captain returning shortstop Cory Urquhart signed with the University of South Alabama. A member of the Sun Belt Conference, the Jaguars currently have four active major league baseball players and have a storied tradition in NCAA Division I baseball.
