
Bellevue College softball got back to winning ways against visiting Highline, winning 21-0 in the opener as the Bulldogs put up 14 runs in the first inning on 14 hits. In an inning that seemed like it would never end, Bellevue sent 11 batters to the plate without recording an out in one of the most lopsided innings in school history. Riley Pirkle tripled with the bases loaded scoring Hallie Sehlin, Anna Fowler, and Maddie Repp. Fowler and Avery Grutz added two RBI doubles as well in the inning.
The bats were mellowed down in the second as BC managed just two runs, and a single run in the third before putting up four in the fourth. Malia Reedy had a three RBI double in the fourth and scored on a double by Kaylie-Grace Brown, giving BC their 21st run.
Brooke Baker was the winner in the circle and scored three runs and had three hits and three RBI’s. Brown had three hits as well. Every starter had at least one hit.
In game two, Bellevue won 8-0. No statistics were available at press time.
Bellevue is now 13-3 in North Region play and 18-8 overall. They travel to Pierce this Sat. Apr. 19 for a noon doubleheader.
