Bellevue College women’s soccer lost 4-0 to host Peninsula in a battle of the two top teams in the NWAC North Region. Peninsula’s offense was too much, putting constant pressure on Bellevue’s side scoring all four goals in the first half. Peninsula outshot Bellevue 11-4 in the lopsided half which dictated the outcome.
The Pirates scored just five minutes into the game before Bellevue would battle for the next 30 minutes. Late in the half, Peninsula nailed three goals within a five minute span to give them enough cushion just before halftime.
Bellevue’s defense made adjustments after the half, allowing only six shots in the final 45 minutes of play. Offensively, BC could not overcome the tenacity of Peninsula goalkeeper Alexandra Naill who had four saves in the second half, preserving the shutout.
Bellevue drops to 4-1 as Peninsula leads at 5-0 in the region. The Bulldogs have the weekend off before traveling to Edmonds next Wed. Oct. 9 for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
