


Bellevue College baseball took three of four against Skagit Valley in the team’s final league series. The four game set was split between Friday and Tuesday due to inclement weather with Skagit Valley taking the opener 1-0 before BC fought back for a 7-2 win in game two. Tristan Aasland was the hard-luck loser in the 1-0 win as the Cardinals scored the lone run on a walk, steal, and RBI single with two outs by Bryce Johnson. In the nightcap Bulldog win, BC erupted for five runs in the seventh as Brandon McKinley led the inning off with a single and was followed by consecutive doubles by Tyson Schertenleib and Gabe Villaflor. Jackson May and Bryan Sfanos added singles in the big inning as well. Micah Hagler, Casey Sabiers, and Skyler Lynch combined to strike out eight batters without a walk in the win.
In the Tuesday doubleheader, Bellevue won in convincing fashion by scores of 10-2 and 10-0. In the opener, the ‘dogs pounded out 14 hits and were led by May with three RBI’s and Sfanos who went three-for-five. Schertenleib had two doubles. In the shutout, Bellevue plated three runs in the opening inning and were led by Ollie Hogan who had two hits and three RBI’s including a double.
Following Tuesday’s games, the Bulldog sophomores were honored with a plaque and were recognized for their commitment and hard work as Coach David Olson spoke on all the players. The list of sophomores included: Konnor Sutton, JJ Diaz, Drew De La Cruz, Ryker Fortier, Gabe Villaflor, JT Rican, Henry Hess, Chase Archibald, R’Mani Adams, Casey Sabiers, Harris Smajic, and Ethan Thomas.
