Bellevue College men’s basketball lost their second game of the NWAC Crossover Tourney to host Wenatchee Valley 87-72. In the first half, BC threw up 40 attempts from the field with nearly half of them from long range, but were a dismal two-for-15 from three-point land. The ‘dogs had countless second chances, thanks to the 12 offensive rebounds (compared to one by Wenatchee Valley) but could not convert.
Josiah Johnson, who was recently named the NWAC Player of the Week for his explosive offense, was four-for-five from the field in the first half, but was a victim of tough defense for the second night in a row as the freshman phenom could only get off 10 shots on the night.
Bellevue didn’t make any adjustments in the second half, putting up 17-of-34 shots from three point land but converting on only four of them.
Logan Stempniak led BC with 25 points and eight rebounds.
Bellevue is now 8-3 on the year and will take on Lane tomorrow for their final game of the tourney Saturday Dec. 16 at noon.
