Bellevue College men’s basketball had their five game win streak broken in a close 84-79 loss to Tacoma at the Wenatchee Valley Crossover. Bellevue made a valiant comeback after falling behind by over 10 points after the first half. The ‘dogs shot a dismal 31% in the first half and cashed in on only one of 12 from three-point range.
With 23 seconds remaining the Bulldogs gave themselves a chance on a three-pointer by Marcus Cole, cutting the lead to 81-79, but the ‘dogs could not get any closer.
Although Bellevue’s shooting finally got warmed up in the second half, Tacoma kept pace as well with a hot 54% shooting clip to negate any earlier run by BC. The Titans were able to maintain close to a 10 point lead for much of the half until the closing seconds. Stempniak had 18 points and was a perfect seven-for-seven from the line.
