Men’s Basketball Opens Three Game Homestand With Win

Bellevue College men’s basketball kicked off a three-game weekend with a 75-63 win over Mount Hood at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. Bellevue raced out to a 44-35 halftime lead and were in control throughout the game as Bellevue at one time held a commanding 33-14 lead in the first half.

In the second half Bellevue stretched the lead to 20 at 10:47 on a shot by Carter Verret making it 63-43 before Mount Hood closed to within ten at 71-63 late in the game, but with only 48 seconds remaining.

The Bulldogs had their most balanced attack of the season as four players hit double digits in scoring, led by the 14 of Josiah Johnson. Marcus Cole had 13 points while Jeremiah Hersrud had 12 and Logan Stempniak with 11.

Bellevue takes on Walla Walla, a team they beat last week in Walla Walla, at 4 p.m.
