Bellevue College capped off a three game swing on the road with an 87-81 win at Centralia. The ‘dogs jumped out to a commanding 45-32 halftime lead in a game that appeared to be destined for a blowout. Bellevue shot 53% in the firs half as the duo of Logan Stempniak and Josiah Johnson were 10-for-14 from the field as they combined for 27 of the team’s 45 points.

In the second half, Stempniak was cooled down by Centralia getting off only four shots but remained a threat at the foul line making a perfect eight-for-eight as BC cashed in on 14-of-16 from the line as a team, preventing Centralia from overtaking the lead.

The Blazers whittled down Bellevue’s lead to three at 77-74 with three minutes remaining, but the ‘dogs were seven-for-nine from the line down the stretch to hold the lead for good.

Johnson led BC with 26 poins while Stempniak had 23 and was a force down under with a team-high 11 rebounds as well.

Bellevue has three games at home this weekend starting off Friday Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. vs. Mount Hood. Bellevue will also host Walla Walla and Highline on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
