Athletic Department Golf Tourney A Success

BC golf tourney 2023

A full field of golfers embarked on a memorable day on the golf course as the annual Bellevue College Athletics Golf Tourney Fundraiser was held at Glendale Country Club. The tourney, played on immaculate course conditions led by Glendale superintendent Steve Kealy under sunny skies made for a successful day in which all proceeds directly benefit Bellevue College athletics. The Bellevue College Foundation, in addition to Director of Athletics Jeremy Eggers conducted a well-orchestrated event that brought together a mix of annual boosters, alums, and BC staff. Several prominent figures teed it up to help support the event including BC president Gary Locke and NWAC Executive Director Marco Azurdia.

Honda Auto Center was one of the main sponsors and had a new car up for grabs in a hole-in-one competition. Other title sponsors were Anheuser-Busch, One Digital, Boeing Employees’ Credit Union, Pacific Office Automation, and Glendale Country Club.

While helping support Bellevue College athletics was the primary theme, fierce competition was the intent of many golfers with the team of Connor Portugal, Garrett Gants, Lukas Motta, and Ryan Hecker taking the trophy for first place team, finishing at 11-under par. The four were all former teammates for Bellevue College baseball.
