Softball Goes 2-2 Over Weekend

Bellevue College softball went 2-2 this weekend in the BC Invite. On Saturday, the Bulldogs topped Clackamas 8-1 before falling to SW Oregon 5-2. On Sunday, the results were the same as BC fell 2-0 to SW Oregon before rallying late in a 14-10 slugfest win over Clackamas.

Bellevue rode the stellar performance of Kaci Imus in the circle in the win over Clackamas. Imus had seven strikeouts and no walks in the complete game effort while Haley Winckler, Morgan Shults, and Morgan Sunchild each had three hits.

In the fourth inning of the SW Oregon matchup, a hit batter and two walks aided the big three-run inning for SW Oregon for the win. Christina Tadvick homered for the Bulldogs delivering a solo blast in the sixth.

Sunday’s opener featured a pitchers’ duel between BC’s Kaci Imus and SW Oregon’s Deztiny Vaughn. Vaughn ended up slightly sharper, throwing a shutout in the circle.

In the finale, BC was down 9-6 before the ‘dogs went on an offensive surge to score eight runs in the final two frames to win. Winckler had four RBI’s while Isabella Qunell and Kelci Studioso both went three-for-three.

The Bulldogs face Clark and Centralia to open up the NWAC Crossover Tourney next weekend at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey. First pitches will be at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. respectively.
