Everett Tops Bellevue Men

Everett Community College defeated host Bellevue 93-81 at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion as the Trojans shot a blistering 54% from the field on 36-of-67 shooting. The 36 field goals bested Bellevue’s 24 for a 24-point difference. Bellevue was able to make up for the deficit at the foul line, draining 24-of-29 as the Trojans committed 29 fouls.

The Trojans carried their hot shooting from the field to beyond the three-point arc as well making nearly 50% of their attempts.

Down 32-17 midway through the first half, Bellevue was able to recover to cut the lead to 42-36 at halftime.

The ‘dogs kept battling and eventually took the lead, 55-53 on a pair of free throws by Bishop Tosi at the 14:02 mark. But the Trojans’ offense continued to roll as they re-stretched their lead up to 13 at 81-68 in an eight minute span to keep Bellevue out of reach.

Prophet Johnson had 28 points and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the line. Bishop Tosi was another Bulldog hot at the free throw line going 10-for-14 for 17 points on the night along with 13 rebounds. The loss puts BC in a tie for third with Everett at 6-5 in North Region play. Bellevue travels to Skagit Valley this Wednesday Feb. 22 for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
