Bellevue College women’s basketball fought back from a 12-point deficit but fell 64-60 to host Shoreline. The Bulldogs buried themselves early, falling behind 18-9 after one quarter of play and didn’t perform their catch up heroics until late in the final quarter.
Gwen Aasland led the ‘dogs in the rally, scoring 13 of her 21 points in the fourth on four-for-six shooting and was five-for-seven from the line. Aasland’s layup with 2:57 remaining tied the game as the Bulldogs had new life after trailing by double digits for most of the game.
From there the Bulldogs could only make one of six attempts to close out the game as Shoreline regained the lead for good. McKayla Rodriguez had 16 rebounds for BC.
The Bulldogs are 3-3 (11-7 overall) and host Olympic this Wed. Feb. 1 at 5 p.m.
