Aasland Leads Basketball Over Pierce

Bellevue’s Gwen Aasland had 14 points and 13 rebounds in an easy 74-42 win over visiting Pierce. In control for the entire game, BC pulled away with a 23-7 fourth quarter spree that finished off the blowout.

Aasland was six-for-eight from the field and had five of her rebounds on putback opportunities as the ‘dogs were able to control the ball with 17 offensive rebounds on the night. McKayla Rodriguez had a game-high 15 boards, including eight offensive. Sharp-shooting Sav Huerta had 14 points while Bri Byrnes, making her return to action following a hiatus added 12. With the return of several injured players, the once thin-rostered Bulldogs were able to go nine-deep tonight.

Bellevue is now 8-4 in pre-season and have one more tune up non-leaguer this Saturday January 7 at 3:00 p.m. as they host Lower Columbia at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion on campus.
