Bellevue College men’s basketball won their opener of the Bulldog Classic tonight 92-79 over Mount Hood at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. The Bulldogs put up 65 attempts from the field and nearly half of them were from three-point land, as the ‘dogs converted 12-of-28 from long distance which fueled their win.
Owen Moriarty was four-for-eight from three-ball land and had 20 points. Prophet Johnson led BC with 22 but did his scoring in opposite fashion, going eight-for-15 from inside the three-point arc and a perfect six-for-six night from the free throw line.
The ‘dogs held a commanding 58-41 lead at halftime and never looked back. Bellevue shot 60% in the first half.
Bellevue takes on Walla Walla tomorrow in day two action of the tourney. Tipoff is slated for 4:00 p.m.
