A lone goal by Lexi Sagepin minutes after the second half started was the only score in a defensive battle won by Bellevue over host Highline 1-0 yesterday at Starfire Complex in Tukwila. Sagepin scored unassisted in a game that saw only eight shots on goal in the entire competition.
Bellevue goalkeeper Celia LaGuardia was 3 for 3 in saves as the defensive front led by sophomores Chloe Gentry, Joi Porter-Harris, and Maddy Drye along with freshman Ashley Joubert stopped Highline from getting any good looks on goal on day.
The win gave Bellevue a sweep over rival Highline as they run their record to 6-0-1. Bellevue takes on Tacoma at home Tuesday May 18 with a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
