Back in full swing with their second doubleheader in less than a week due to covid pauses, Bellevue College softball split a doubleheader yesterday at Edmonds winning 15-5 before losing the second game 2-1.
In the opener, the Bulldogs rallied from an early 2-0 deficit in the first inning then erupted for 11 runs in the seventh inning for the blowout. Although BC did string together several key hits in the big inning including 2-RBI doubles by Kaci Imus and Hannah Hvitved, the ‘dogs were aided by 6 walks and a hit batter to magnify the offensive explosion.
Nicole Leadley had 3 RBI’s for BC.
In the second game, Edmonds jumped ahead 2-0 in the first inning as they did in the opener, but the Tritons’ Kennedy West kept Bellevue’s offense silent in a complete game effort in the circle allowing only one run by BC. Hvitved was the sole Bulldog who had a 2-hit game as she continues her run offensively since last Saturday.
Bellevue is now 5-3 and hosts Everett this Saturday May 8 for a 1:00 doubleheader.
