Men’s Soccer Team Ties, Earns First Win

Last Tuesday the men’s soccer team took the field to take on Trinity Lutheran College at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. The hard fought match ended in a 3-3 tie. The Bulldog offense came out ready to play scoring two goals in the 12th and 13th minutes of the game. It didn’t take long for Bellevue’s Ebrima Jatta to get his season going in the right direction as he was responsible for both early scores. Then in the 27th minute, Yahir Sandoval scored his 1st goal of the season which was assisted by Alan Villavicencio. By the 2nd half, Trinity was able to contain the Bellevue offense and knot up the score securing a 3-3 tie.

Following the tie, the Bulldogs came back to play on Wednesday August 31 to take on Walla Walla. Again, Bellevue was able to apply early pressure thanks to Preston Hale’s goal coming in the 12th Minute. In the 16th minute Omar Gomez scored his first goal of the season putting the Bulldogs up 2-0, followed by a 40th minute goal by Ebrima Jatta, already his third goal of the season. The 3-0 halftime lead was also the final score as Bellevue goalkeeper David Cardenas recorded the shutout for the Bulldogs. The win puts the team at 1-0-1 on the season. The Bulldogs will play host to Skagit Valley on Wednesday Sept. 14th at 4:15PM.
