On Wednesday Oct. 26, the men’s soccer team faced off with the Tacoma Titans at Bellevue. It was a hard-fought match between the West Region opponents and it wasn’t until the 45th minute where Tacoma was able to score first taking a 1-0 lead into halftime. In a game where a loss would have shattered Bellevue’s playoff hopes, co-captain Alan Villavicencio put the team on his back and scored an unassisted goal to even up the score at 1-1 and secure the tie.
With the tie, the team’s playoff hopes are still alive. With just two regular season games to go, Bellevue will be tested, needing to win both of their final games, along with some help from other teams to climb into the third spot in the west. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wed. Nov. 2 as they play host to Highline (who currently sits in second place) at Sammamish High School with an 8:30 PM kickoff. Following Wednesday’s match, Bellevue will be taking on #1 ranked and undefeated Peninsula. Bellevue sits at 3-3-5 in league and 4-3-6 overall.
