Bellevue College’s Max Brown broke the starting lineup for the New Zealand National team batting ninth in the opening round of the World Baseball Classic qualifier. Brown’s squad lost 10-0 against heavily-favored Chinese-Taipei. The game was played in front of 9,000 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Brown’s squad will face elimination against the Thailand national team which features former Major League all-star Johnny Damon.
