Bulldogs Take Tie and Win

In the week’s matches for Bellevue College, the women’s soccer team played against Highline Community College and Olympic College.  They took place on October 20th and October 23rd respectively.

Against Highline, the Bulldogs created multiple scoring opportunities throughout the match, “but just got unlucky,” stated Shefts.  From shots hitting the goal post to shots that just missed wide of the goal, the Bulldogs could not capitalize.  The only offensive output for the Bulldogs came on Abigail Stuart’s score in the 37th minute, assisted by Brittney Conway.  Highline was able to even the score at 1-1 in the 57th minute and that was how the match ended.

The second match of the week ended better for Bellevue as they defeated Olympic.  Two goals were scored by Jamie Lindstrom (18’) and Kayla Kasper (89’).  Conway assisted the first goal while Lindstrom assisted the second.  Two goals were all Bellevue needed as they took home a 2-0 victory.

“Olympic had a great goalkeeper which was challenging and we had great individual efforts.”  “We were able to execute some set plays and got the win” said Shefts.

Bellevue remains in first place in the NWAACC’s West Region with a league record of 8-1-2.   Next for the Bulldogs is Tacoma Community College next on October 27th on the road and host Green River Community College on October 30.
